Hello! I'm Bridgette, the one on the left, Casey and I have been running our ETSY business together for the past four years. We have decided that it's time to add blogging to our resume. (Uh yeah, we still have those! Right?) We love all things wedding, DIY, party planning, and fun! It also never hurts when said fun is also covered in gorgeousness! We plan on using this space as a place to celebrate the celebrations that make us all heart eyed and happy! So, there is no better celebration to begin with than the wedding that kicked this entire thing into overdrive! That would be Casey's gorgeous wedding. Casey was finishing nursing school, working full time as a project manager for a tile company AND planning her wedding! (Yes, she's totally that first born, get 'er done kinda gal.) At a family event she was mentioning that she might postpone her wedding because it was starting to be impossible to keep all those plates spinning. I had just moved back to Houston with my husband and our 3 year old daughter, and I was looking for a project. I was a stay at home mom for the first time in my young daughters life and as much as I LOVED it, I recognized that I also needed a creative outlet. So I offered to help a cousin out! After all we had spent MOST of our childhood coloring, playing, and crafting together while watching our favorite Disney princesses dance and swim across the tv. I was the oldest of the big bunch of cousins we have and so, I had lots of time with my cousins.... A.K.A. I was the built in babysitter! So, back to Casey's wedding... she was too busy, I wasn't busy enough and so we enlisted the help of our family and friends to help us create her wedding. This whole decor business that we have created, almost didn't happen! Casey's wedding was supposed to be outdoors and at the last minute (two hours before the wedding was to start!) we moved the wedding inside to the reception hall! Thank the good Lord above that this event was being held at the fabulous venue in The Woodlands, Texas called The Springs. Their reception hall was so huge and we were able to have our ceremony and reception set up all while keeping our guests warm! I remember Casey and I both being a little sad about the change in spaces, especially since the outside space of this venue is GORGEOUS, but looking back now with 20/20 vision we wouldn't have it any other way! I mean really, look at those magical trees back there and the gorgeous exposed wood beams! And did we mention that our favorite singers EVER graced us with their music! These girls were just on NBC's The Voice! We've grown up with these sweet sisters and we were so grateful that they would sing for Casey's big day! Thank you Whitney & Shannon! Now go and download their 4 chair turn audition song Landslide on iTunes! Yes, they are angels in real life too! Remember those DIY crafting sessions I talked about earlier? Each of these branches were collected from the yards of our cousins and picked up along the road that leads to our church. We hand painted those babies with Mod Podge and a mixture of brown and gold glitter. They were stunning, and a pain in our butts! I never loathed crafting in my LIFE... and those sticks brought me close to that limit. Thankfully I recovered! Could that flower girl be any sweeter? (I could be a bit bias.) I never knew that I would give birth to my cousins BFF. These two are Disney princesses with a masters in all things scientific! I'm pretty sure that Casey is friends with me because of my daughter! (I'm only half kidding... I think). Although I do owe the whole idea of this business to Casey, I made the original stuff for her wedding, but she made the ETSY shop and convinced me to work on it with her. So I'd say we are even!
We couldn't be more thankful for that twist in the weather 4 years ago this January, and we are so grateful to all the brides that have ordered from us! Your support of our products is what keeps us going, we LOVE being apart of more love, joy and happily ever afters! What's your favorite part of a wedding? It can be from Casey's wedding above, or just weddings in general! Until next time! -Bridgette |
